FAQs

Questions families ask us most.

Arranging care for someone you love comes with a lot of questions. Here are the answers to the ones we hear most often. If yours isn't here, we're only a phone call away.

We're not sure what sort of help we need. Where do we start?

You're not alone. Most families are asking the same question. Just give us a call or send an online enquiry and tell us a little about your situation in your own words. We will talk it through with you, ask a few questions about daily life, and suggest what kind of support might fit best. There's no obligation, and no pressure to commit to anything.

Can we arrange care for just a one-off occasion?

Yes. Some families need a single visit. Perhaps your usual carer is away, there's a special event, or you just need a helping hand around the house. One-off visits are subject to availability, so it's best to get in touch as early as you can.

Will the same person be coming each visit?

Wherever we possibly can, yes. We believe care works best when there's a familiar face at the door, so we take the time to match your family with the right carer and keep that match consistent week to week. If your regular carer is ever unwell or on leave, we'll introduce you to whoever steps in beforehand, never a stranger arriving unannounced.

Can someone be driven to appointments or the shops?

Yes. Accompanying clients to medical appointments, social outings, the supermarket or a coffee with friends is one of the most-loved parts of what we do. If one of our carers uses their own vehicle to take you out, there's a small mileage contribution and we'll always confirm it with you beforehand so there are no surprises.

What if we need to change the days or times of our visits?

Life doesn't always run to schedule, and we understand that. Just let us know as soon as you can and we'll do our best to rearrange your care for the day. The more notice you give us, the more easily we can shift your visits, especially around other families' schedules.

What happens if we need to cancel a visit?

We're a small, family-run service, and when a carer is booked for your visit that time is set aside just for you. If you need to cancel, please give us as much notice as you can, as short notice may attract a small cancellation fee.

Who do we call outside of office hours, or in an emergency?

For the families in our care, we're reachable around the clock, seven days a week, including public holidays. You'll be given a direct number to call if anything urgent comes up with your care.

If it's a medical emergency, always call 111 first. Then call us, and we'll do everything we can to help from our side.

How does payment work?

We keep it simple. You'll receive a clear invoice by email to pay via internet banking. Before anything begins, we'll walk you through our rates and exactly what's included, so you'll never be left guessing what a visit will cost.

What areas do you cover?

We provide in-home care from the North Shore through to Whangaparāoa. If you're just outside those areas, still get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Are your carers checked and qualified?

Every member of our team is carefully interviewed, reference-checked and police-vetted before they ever set foot in a client's home. Just as importantly, they're people we'd happily welcome into our own home: warm, patient and genuinely called to care.

Do you offer overnight or 24/7 care?

Yes. Alongside regular daytime visits, we can arrange overnight support and round-the-clock care for those who need it. These arrangements are planned individually with your family, so give us a call and we'll talk through what would suit your situation best.

How quickly can care begin?

Often sooner than you'd expect. Once you've been in touch, we'll arrange a time to talk. If you'd like, a relaxed visit to your home can happen first before a care plan is put in place. In many cases support can begin within days. If your need is urgent, tell us when you call and we'll do everything we can to move quickly.
